We’re Building a New Game Called Haste

This post is part of a media package I’m creating for Landfall Games. The rest of my project can be found here.

All the way back in mid-2021, we began the creation of a new game. Something fast-paced and unlike anything we’ve developed before. After a few months of pondering, we’ve decided to call it Haste!

What is Haste?

What started as a server test has quickly become a full-fledged project that we can’t wait to share with you guys. Haste will be a multiplayer racing game where you choose from a roster of characters and run from world to world. That’s right—run! You’ll be sprinting, sliding, and taking flight in a number of hilly levels. From forests with giant trees to sandy deserts and crystal mines, we’re creating all kinds of environments to race through.

Will Haste be connected to the Totally Accurate series?

The short answer is no, it won’t be. As much as we love Totally Accurate Battle Simulator and Totally Accurate Battlegrounds, we want to create something totally different, and not a wobbler. With development on older games finishing up, we’re looking forward to being able to work on something new and fun!

Even though we’ve been using the character from the Totally Accurate series for playtests (like the gif above), the final game will have characters built from scratch, each with their own personality.

When will Haste be released?

Haste is still only a few months into development and is likely going to change a lot between now and launch. With that in mind, we’re not sure when Haste will be finished or released. We don’t want to put out half-assed projects, so we’re going to take all the time we need to create a polished game.

While we don’t know exactly when Haste will be released, we are planning an alpha test sometime this year! It’s not quite ready yet, but you can sign up at www.runfastgame.com to be notified when it launches.
